From my dad.

Whether you are a rodeo queen dad or a 4H show mom, my dad has perfected the skill and this is what he says about your job:

"Thoughts from a Rodeo Queen Dad" What is a Rodeo Queen Dad??? Now that I have been one, I guess I can comment on what I believe one is. First and foremost, it's not about us. Second we are the ones who pickup the pieces, when a dream doesn't happen. We need to be on call 24 hours a day to handle all those "I forgot" things. We need to have open wallets to handle those expenses that suddenly occur. We need to be able to handle those calls, when they are falling to pieces and put all those pieces back together. We have to be that shoulder to cry on, when they don't win. We need to be be at the pageants to show support, even when we should be attending to other things that need to be done. We work our friends to help find sponsors for her. We need to go to the Rodeos where she is carrying the flag to open the competition. We need to be supportive for her dreams no matter what. We need to post on Facebook pictures and videos of where they are. While we are at home, they get to travel all over the country and see things we may never get to see. I am sure I didn't comprise a full list of things that a Rodeo Queen Dad is, but I think I have found many of those that are the most important. I hope that every dad out there, when you have a daughter who decides to be a Rodeo Queen will be able support her decision and be in background. We will never be looked upon as being anything other than a simple Rodeo Queen Dad.:
